Show Synopsis

The story is about a girl named Lola (she was a showgirl...) who comes to New York from Oklahoma. She dreams big dreams of being a star. She works hard and becomes a Copa Girl, one of the showgirls at the world famous "Copacabana" nightclub. She falls in love with the bartender/songwriter, Tony, who also falls in love with her. But he's not the only one who wants her—Rico, a gangster who runs the Tropicana nightclub in Havana, Cuba has eyes for Lola as well. He wants her for his club, and will do anything to make that happen. The twist is that this familiar story is occurring in the imagination of Stephen, a songwriter, who's trying to write a new song, and sometimes Stephen gets a little too involved with his characters.
